My top ten favorite cards I made this year!

Here are my 10 Favorite!

This year (2011) is my first year for cardmaking - And the year I found OWH!  As I looked through the cards I made since July I thought 3 things - 1) I have improved 2) I am taking more chances and stepping out of my comfort zone and 3) I should probably apologize to Sandy for some of the cards I sent!  For 2012 - I am going to collect a few more Copics (right Cindy!) - work on my coloring skills - try more techniques - and spend more time on quality - not quantity!

ODBD Challenge card for OWH

This is my card for the Our Daily Bread challenge for OWH.  I stamped my sentiment on vellum.  I like the way vellum looks with this stamp.  I was also stepping outside my comfort zone with colors that don't totally match - this is a biggie for me!

Digital Image Challenge on OWH

I made these in October while sitting in my "Arizona Room" listening to the F-16's fly overhead.  I used Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol mineral spirits.  It was a multiple first attempt - at the
Gamsol - Nestabilities and digital images.  I had forgotten to put a mat underneath and the effect on the hat turned out really nice and marb-leeeee !!!    I added sentiments to them before shipping them off to Sandy at OWH.  I love Nestabilities!  I had to work with them to get them to work well in my Vagabond - they got stuck once - and I cried!  But it all worked out!

Puppy love card for OWH sketch #97

I may be stretching using my cad to match the challenge!  The measurements meet the specifications - I used a digi stamp of a springer spaniel and a few doggie paws.  I am actually sending this card to a springer spaniel names Cocoa - it's her 105 birthday!  She is a rocking puppy!  She has a springer puppy (not hers) in her home now - named Callie rose - there is nothing more beautiful than watching 2 springers with fluffy floppy ears run around!  That IS puppy love!

2 Masculine Thank You Cards

I was a bit bored today - a bit tired of lying around reading - that is sooo awesome - means I am feeling better - and finally creative again!  Here is my take on 2 masculine thank you cards for OWH.

Found the most adorable stamps!

I was in Green Valley, AZ visiting my son - I had looked up scrapbooking stores b4 I left - who wouldn't have!! Found the store and some really unusual papers and stamps!  here is a picture of the stamps - I made the mistake of writing the wrong info by the stamp - so follow my arrows!

Another Love Card for OWH Challenge - Midweek Throwdown

Funk Oh Funk B Gone With YOU!

Here is a question - IF I don't feel like creating - why do I still feel buying to be a necessity???  Today I bought Copic Marker E000 - because I had a 40% of coupon!  Then I went to a different store and bought a Nestability with another coupon - cuz the 1st store only takes 1 coupon per customer! I really like the Nestability - got it to work really nicely with my Vagabond - and partially made a card using my trial cut out.  Just not really motivated to high performance right now.  Guess I will go read the 21st book in the Sisterhood series by Fern Michaels!

A LOVE card

I have not made anything in over 2 weeks - that does not unfortunately mean I haven't bought anything!  I had 2 epidural injections in my spine - which put me down for a couple of days - but when my pain is bad and it is unresolvable (not helped my medication) or just so constant relief is minimal - I tend to roll into myself - and hibernate.  This is where I have been!  Today I finally felt a tad of inspiration - and found enough relief to be creative.

An Any Hero Card

This is an Any Hero card for OWH sketch challenge #92 - I liked the red stars paper because I knew it would go well with a khaki color paper - and it does!  I love the circle with Hello in it - one of my favorite go with anything stamps!  I am struggling a bit to make cards or do any type of craft right now - the mind is there - but the body is not up to the challenge.....

Is it summer AGAIN already!

It must be because the tripe digit temperatures have been back for over a week!  So I made summer-y cards!  I case'd the idea - and changed up - pretty much everything!  I even tried unsuccessfully to use my Stamp-a-majig thing - then put it away!  and just went with luck!

thank you, Human!

An OWH sketch challenge card quite the simple one!  3 - 4 X 1.5 strips - and a sentiment - I am discovering that really cool paper becomes even cooler when you cut it up!  Previously I hated cutting my pretty papers!

A girly and "boy-y" card

I love the pink designer paper - and I used the sentiment "happy together" to let my warped sense of humor out for a walk - in honor of "save the taa taa's" month! The masculine card is for an OWH challenge - to make a masculine card!

Merry Merry

Hi - happy Sunday!  I made a Christmas "type" card for the OWH sketch this week.  I visited a small and very very nice craft store on Friday - and their paper was wonderful.  I had to purchase a few select sheets - and used 3 of these to create my card.  I love the old time look and the spots of imperfections.  What a treat to not have to make them myself!  Enjoy!

Wild Feather!

I had a wild feather - you know where to use my Pick a Petal Stampin Up stamps - here is the card I made

Snowman Fever!

The weather FINALLY changed in Arizona and it was cool enough to sit outside and try some Gamsol Magic - and to color a few snowmen...

New Month - New Cards!

My mojo had been seriously injured - but it recovered last night - it fought me all the way - but I have it at 85% capacity now - - - and working towards a complete fix!  The second card is for an Operation Write Home sketch challenge - I sure struggled with measurements - how sad is that!

So glad to be participating in this blog hop.  This is my 1st try with digistamps - and I colored it with Prismacolor pencils.    I love supporting our troops and heroes with cards - and have FUN doing it!  I like to think it brings them closer to home with each card they write.  Enjoy the day! AND love your puppy!

I learned how to make half circles!

I learned how to make the half circle on the end of a strip - I have admired these - and finally got it!  Took some practice - since I am  a bit of a dork!  but I finally got it - Cut the strip a bit smaller than your circle punch - insert strip thru the hole (where the circle gets cut) thru the cutting part in the back half of the punch - and WAHOO! You have a semi circle!  I won't say how many times I had to try this and the number of times I turned and looked inside my circle punch!  I am soooo challenged sometimes!

A few cards for an OWH challenge

I have been wanting to use my new I Dig U stamp set - then I saw a card with one of the trucks from this set and a cupcake - and I was off and running.  My oldest son works around huge trucks and his birthday is next week - so I made one for the challenge and one for him!
