Just Some Beautiful Paper

I bought a 6 X 6 pad of BoBunny valentine paper last Saturday.  I also bought a few 12 X 12 sheets of it - I couldn't help myself!  It is just beautiful!  Yesterday I made a quick valentine card with a couple of sheets of the small paper.

Happy Birthday PFC

I made this birthday card for a contact of Sandy Allnock that is celebrating a birthday in Afghanistan.  I perhaps went a bit to feminine!   I loved all the papers together - and may have had yet another case of paper driving the theme - rather than the theme!

The supplies I used:
  • Neenah Solar White -120 lb for card base
  • 7 Gypsies - Matarro - striped paper
  • Stampin Up Top Note die - made from Bo Bunny Back to Basics paper
  • Simple Stories - Happy Day -Blue paper with flags and the sentiment
  • On the Surface Twine
  • Bo Bunny Weekend Market brad
This is getting easier!!!!!

Operation Write Home MidWeek Throwdown

Hi - I am working on making my cards more interesting - I get carried away and forget my original plan!  Or lack of one - too ofter!  I am also going to start listing the products used - that is hard!!  I like how this card turned out - I am leaning towards muted colors right now - I have phases!

Supplies used:
Card base - Neenah Solar White 120 lb
The Chevron and Dots are from the same paper I even used the paper where the name is!- Basic Grey Serenade
There is a barely seen piece of - Basic Grey Urban Couture Tweed
The small circle - EK Success Rebecca Sower Designs Twigs & Twine
Bo Bunny Weekend Market Brads
On the Surface Twine
Him Holtz Distress Ink - Walnut Stain
Memento Rich Cocoa - Sentiment
Sentiment is a dollar stamp set (Michaels)
Stampin Up Kraft paper

I promise I am working on getting better at listing supplies!

OWH Sketch 146

I wanted to make a "boy" card - so I looked through my stash and found a kit from Crate Paper called "Zoom".  It had wonderful papers - patterned and solid - and a diagonal stripe that just spoke to me.  The kit has some very nice labels and tags - but they didn't work for me this time around.  I really liked the muted tones and that some portions of the paper had some distressing.  I added two brads from a Recollection collection of screw tipped brads - and a bit of twine from "On the Surface."  For a sentiment I used a square/scalloped Happy Birthday stamp from Stampin Up- stamped with Riding Hood Red  ink.  I used the Stampin Up 1 1/2 inch square scallop punch -which gave the sentiment a nice white border.  I stamped the paper with the same stamp and color and used dimensionals on the sentiment.

And now for my Happy Birthday card:

Operation Write Home Sketch 145

Great sketch! Fun to make - simple and can be dressed up with pretty paper!

Here are my cards -

Rae - Anything look familiar?

ODBD Nov Challenge

Grr!  I typed an eloquent description - then pressed the wrong button!  Silly hands!  The challenge is to create a card using a tool that hasn't been used for awhile.  How about NEVER!  I discovered this tool - a Circle Scissor - when cleaning out my cabinet last year - read the directions - rare for me! and discovered it was very cool.  But I never used it!  I also used a newish border punch by Fiskars - which makes wonderful leftovers!

Midweek Throwdown for Oct 31

The challenge was to make Valentine's cards.  I was tired of Christmas cards - so I decided to change over to the next OWH challenge - due by Dec 31 - Valentine's cards!  I have tons of stuff I want to use - so this should be fun!  Here are four cards -

A Few More Christmas Cards for OWH

I went to a Stampin Up workshop on Sunday and made 5 cards - Christmas cards seem to bring out glitter paper - so I had to opt out of the glitter - of course - and isolated a snowflake card with glitter paper.  I put that card in a ziploc so I didn't contaminate my cards - AND I checked everything over and over at different angles.  The snowflake card remains safely isolated with it's glitter paper! These were fun cards to make and I enjoyed the company!

Christmas Cards from a 6 x 6 pad

I decided to try the 6 x 6 technique posted on Operation Write Home.  for the 1st  14 cards I used OWH sketches - and still had A LOT of the 6 x 6 paper left!  AND scraps!  So I started making my own "creations".  My final count is 30 cards!  My 30th card is one of scrap strips!  I had to clean up my craft room - the disorder really bothered me!  So I had to conquer my fear of unmatched patterns next to each other!  I should mention 2 things - 1) I noticed a giant smear on one card that I will go back and fix - but there are 3 in the picture; and 2) and I may have mixed up sketch 56 and sketch 115!  In conclusion - - -  using sketches makes the card making experience more enjoyable for me and I can't stand a huge mess in my crafting space - which is why I often make 1 card at a time.

A series of cards I made

I seem to be drawn to this pad of paper I got last year - It has crushed velvet like paper and beautiful stripped and dotted paper.  I couldn't cut the paper - at first - but once I did - I couldn't stop making cards with it.  I have made 20 cards -using 5 or 6 sheets of paper-12x12.  So I still have lots more!  the pad also has stickers - which I used!  Many don't look like stickers - which is what I loved!  This time I decided I wanted stripes and dots for the top and bottom section - and a different pattern to go over where these connect.  Then I added "stuff".  I really enjoyed the results.  I also located the instructions for my Crop a Dile - and used it on two cards to set brads!!!!

Simple but Sincere

Here is my card for October 3rd Midweek Throwdown - I had a vision - it did not, however, work! This card idea was my 2nd vision!  I don't know that it worked but I do like it.  This is the 1st time I have scanned a card to get a picture - the black spots don't exist in reality! (hehe) And the colors are white and calypso coral!  So much for my vision!

OWH Midweek Throwdown

Sometimes when my creativity is at a low to medium level - I look through my paper collection for inspiration - I forgot I had this 12x12 pad of paper with black velvet-y dimensional paper!  It got my attention!!!!!!  The pad also had matching stickers that were velvet-y also  - I made several different cards with the paper - and really really enjoyed the feel of the paper and the resulting cards.  I hope whoever receives them loves the feel also.  And even better - I still have more paper just like it!

So many stickers - the oval the swirls and the sentiment!

Feel Better SOON!

I made this card for the teacher my husband works with - she thought somebody was changing lanes and would hit her on her Vespa - so she hit her brakes hard!  She severely injured her elbow and cracked her knee!  Life changed permanently in a second!    About one year ago I invited her to a Stampin Up workshop and she loved it and became a rep.  I hope she enjoys my card!
