On Saturday, January 5th 2013 my husband and I had our dog Corgi put to sleep. Such a hard decision. She was in so much pain from arthritis. She was having trouble with her rear slipping out from her - but then she would get up and walk and be "prancey". But sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning her legs could no longer hold her up. Being a chronic pain sufferer I empathized. We will miss her for a long long time. She was a wonderful friend, a silly dog - who loved us so much she ate through our pantry wall numerous times to try to find us! For those of you who have lost a beloved pet - you understand.
I loved this dog! I loved her puppy nose and her puppy paws. She loved belly rugs and giving kisses.
Ronni, so sad to hear about your loss. A similar thing happened with our golden retriever. It's like losing a member of the family. Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteRonni, My heart goes out to you and your husband. I DO know how you feel and I sympathize with you, but you did the right thing. It's almost like they let you know when they have had enough. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I can't wait to see her picture
ReplyDeleteRobin I am so sorry for your loss. They do leave paw prints on our hearts. Your dog was lucky to have such wonderful owners who did the right thing in the end.
ReplyDeleteRonni, I'm so sorry to hear about your precious pet. That's a hard decision to make. I know she had a happy life with you.
