Blake's Birthday Card

My grandson Blake will be 11 on Friday, Aug 31 - so I made him this card.  I remember first meeting him - he was 2 1/2, blonde hair and blue eyes, and full of energy!  I still smile when I think about him being fascinated with my van doors being able to open automatically - and him climbing over seats and running from one door to another to get away from his mom so he could play in the van! 

It looks better in person than in the photo - the Stickles came out really nice - and I love this Stampin Up set - Blast Off!

I am working on having some feeling of creativity - I am not doing well on it!  I don't know where my excitement for creating went - I will look for it again after lunch -   Here is a Midweek Throwdown card - using Kraft paper - I made it at a Stampin Up workshop - and also a submission for the ODBD August challenge - not ecstatic with it - but it is a masculine card - and I just don't have a great deal of "umph"!

Hopefully I am back for a long time!   Sometimes life gets in the way of crafting - sometimes crafting gets in the way of life!  Here is my submission for Operation Write Home sketch 133 - I have tons of pink scraps to use up!
