I learned how to make half circles!

I learned how to make the half circle on the end of a strip - I have admired these - and finally got it!  Took some practice - since I am  a bit of a dork!  but I finally got it - Cut the strip a bit smaller than your circle punch - insert strip thru the hole (where the circle gets cut) thru the cutting part in the back half of the punch - and WAHOO! You have a semi circle!  I won't say how many times I had to try this and the number of times I turned and looked inside my circle punch!  I am soooo challenged sometimes!

A few cards for an OWH challenge

I have been wanting to use my new I Dig U stamp set - then I saw a card with one of the trucks from this set and a cupcake - and I was off and running.  My oldest son works around huge trucks and his birthday is next week - so I made one for the challenge and one for him!

Iris folding - Christmas Tree

Odd that the hardest part is cutting out the shape!

New MOJO Card

For another OWH challenge I made this card with soooo many "NEW" mojo items - well for me anyway!  The most important - the pennants and how I got them!  I must have slept through Geometry and couldn't figure out how to get the shape I wanted - then I remembered I had purchased an enormous amount of template star shapes to do English Paper Piecing. I didn't use them - soooooo genius attached - I got out a star taped that sucker to my paper - cut it in half - and wonder of wonders - the right shape!  Another new mojo item for me - I really like this card - usually I feel so -so about my items.  In fact, I liked it so much - I put matching blue paper inside!

Hardest card I have made in awhile!

I just couldn't find "IT"!  The sketch challenge for OWH was easy - I just kept pushing my mojo - and it kept slapping me in face!  This card is the 6th attempt at the challenge!  Shame on me!  Scrap drawer got fuller!  When I sat down to make this card - it took 5 minutes!  When your mojo is working - it just is!

2nd attempt at iris folding

No picture this time!    I made a heart - all the paper folding and scotch taping was fine ---- although using scotch tape feels very unnatural!  My cutout of the heart - the actual template shape was not well done - I am a very poor cutter!  Several websites recommend using a craft knife - my husband recommends I don't!  I am a bit of a danger to myself with sharp objects!  So - I guess it's back to the drawing board to practice my cutting skills = or I will just us paper punches or Sizzix dies - I am safe with those!  I also found a website to purchase pre-cut templates.  While this is expensive - it will be well worth it for "designer" shapes...I really like iris folding - it is so so so easy - and equally beautiful!

My 1st try at Iris (paper) folding

I love paper piecing with material
and I have always wanted to try
it with paper - iris folding.
Today I got my Scorepal - soooo
I decided to try it.. Except for having
to use scotch tape - I love it!
